Our annual golf tournament has historically raised $1,000 to $1,500 each year for BKAA scholarships. Take some time to review the highlights of each tournament on our message board postings on golf.
In 1997 the BKAA raised $5,000 through the golf tournament to establish the Joseph Pape ('79) scholarship account. The account is managed by the Pape family for the benefit of BK students. The morning of the golf tournament, we worked with the Pape family to hold a Mass and dedication breakfast at the school.
The highlight of the 1995 AlumKnights annual scholarship golf scramble was the appearance of 5-Time State Amateur Champion Dave Molitor from the class of 71. Dave came to Boise a day early to get in a practice round. He then teamed up with Chris Bieter, Curt Barbee and Kim Johnstone to win the tournament with an impressive 12 under par.
Molitor was quoted as saying "I've won a lot of big tournaments in my time but none compare with winning the Alumknight Scramble. It was like winning the Masters."
