Deborah Louise Richardson, 41, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 16, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family when she slipped into the arms of Jesus to be forever in His presence. A Rosary and Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Debbie was born in Tacoma, Wash. on Dec. 15, 1965 to Mack and Yvette Richardson. She spent most of her life growing up in Boise and attended St. Mark's, Sacred Heart and Bishop Kelly High School, from where she graduated in 1984. Debbie went on to attend Boise State University, Idaho State University and University of Idaho. She completed the Surgical Technology program at BSU in 1990. She worked for Micron and Hewlett Packard where she enjoyed working with and befriending many coworkers. Among other interests, Debbie belonged to a bowling league where she enjoyed being and celebrating with her teammates in winning or losing. Her love of bowling was interrupted in 1996 when Debbie was diagnosed with brain cancer and had battled ever since. Since her diagnosis, she had developed an interest and affection for her four-legged furry friends. She would frequently watch after others' pets as well as house-sit. Debbie had a knack for making each of her pets feel equally loved. Debbie's family was always very important to her, especially her nieces and nephews. She never missed a birthday and always sent a card and $10 so that each felt special. Her family was fortunate enough to spend one last vacation with Debbie in Hawaii this past May. She loved being around the entire family no matter what the occasion. During the last months of her life, her siblings were able to spend quality time and care for her. Debbie's family would like to thank the St. Al's Cancer Care staff, Dr. Stephanie Hodson and her clinical nurse, Tara. In addition, the family is grateful for the wonderful care and attention shown to Debbie by Linda Graham R.N., Maggie Saunders, Liesha Chavez, Carla Mickey, Phillip Bulgin, and Pam Phillips. Debbie is survived by her sisters, Chellie (Joel) Van Lith of Caldwell, Pam (Nick) Brady of Boise, and Renee Richardson of Boise; brothers, Thad (Jan) Richardson of Cordova, Alaska, and Larry Richardson of Meridian; her mother, Yvette L. Richardson of Boise; her father, his wife, and their daughters, Mack W. Richardson, Jr. and Joanna, Meghan and Mackenzie Richardson of Derry, New Hampshire; her grandmother, Ruth B. Richardson of Boise; her aunt and uncle, Katie and John Richardson of Longwood, Fla.; her cousins, David (Maggie) Richardson of Riverview, Florida and Krista Richardson of New Smyrna, Fla. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mack W. Richardson, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Anatole and Evelyn Limoges; her maternal aunt and uncle, Howard and Gladys Grainger. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Debbie's memory be made to either the Bishop Kelly Foundation, 7009 Franklin Rd., Boise, ID 83709; or the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, ID 83705. Published in the Idaho Statesman from 10/19/2007 - 10/21/2007.
