Hello all, Here is the info regarding the Tree Planting and Jersey Retirement that is planned for Dave Handley this Friday (Oct 21) We will be planting the tree at BK at 6:15. You should not have any probem finding us. I am told the Handleys have picked a spot along the road that leads from the front parking lot back to the football field. After the tree planting will be kickoff at 7:00. During half time of the game will be a ceremony marking the retirement of Dave's jersey. Once this is completed - anyone who is interested can gather at the Crescent (No Lawyers!) Bar and Grill. One extra thought - as a way for each person to participate in the tree ceremony and honor the place that Dave held in our lives- bring a short length of ribbon that will be tied around the trunk of the tree once we have planted it. No color restrictions - a rainbow of colors seems most appropriate. There will be extra ribbon available if you forget. Thanks for coming to remember Dave and support the Handley family - Julianne
Let's get this thread rolling. I'm probably talking to myself...but it would be cool to start hearing from the class of 88. I'm a new father. Our baby, Lyric, is 6 months now. Still doesn't make me an A.M. Radio Dad. I love spending most of my outside-of-work time with wife and baby, but also look forward to those days of suspended adolescence. Along those lines, I'm geeked about Lollapalooza in Chicago this August. It's now a 3-day festival with 130 bands and a few 88 grads will be joining me here to take in the great music and scenery. Imagine watching Radiohead, with both the Sears Tower and Lake Michigan in view from either side of the stage, and you get some sense of the venue- Grant Park. If anyone is interested in a great summer weekend, contact me at ptrapp03@comcast.net. Would love to hear from you.
Looking for classmates interested in an '88 team for the annual end of year 3 on 3 tournament. The date of this year's tournmanet hasn't been posted, but in the past it has been held on the first Saturday after Christmas.
Okay gang, our postings are lame, lame, lame as far as people getting on and connecting !!! Where are you all ?? I am just letting you know that our 20th HS reunion is coming up next year and you should plan on attending. I am going to need some help in planning the whole shin dig, so I can be contacted through this website on bk.org or my personal email address, khand32@hotmail.com. More info will be up and coming as the year progresses, but it won't be any fun unless you all get on and start talking about coming !!!
I now have the list of all of our classmates and I'm trying to update it. It would be terrific if we could just get email addresses for everyone and communicate that way. Please contact me at krs9@georgetown.edu to update your own contact information or to provide the same information for your friends in our class.
Wow, just checked this site for the heck of it and noticed there was a new posting for '88. Let me know if you need help with anything for the reunion. Jacqui
I replied directly to Kim about the reunion, but thought I would toss this message out to the world to see who else is paying attention.
I am really, really surprised that we are already at our 20th reunion. Have I been asleep for twenty years? Well when I graduated from BK I said I would come back for the 20th reunion, so I guess this will be it!
I hope to catch up with you all before then so I don't feel totally out of the loop when I see you. I hear about many of you through my parents who are still in Boise. I do think of you often. Can't wait!
Update on the 20 year (in case anyone checks here anymore)which takes place over Labor Day weekend. Kim Sayers (Fay) is heading this up. Biggest obstacle so far is locating our classmates as there is a long list of folks for whom we don't have correct contact information. So if you're reading this and you have not yet received an e-mail from Kim, then we don't have your info.
Really looking forward to seeing everyone, those I thought I knew as well as those I hardly knew. :)
Hey everyone another update on reunion. We will be having the family picnic at Merrill Park in Eagle on Sunday August 31 from 1-5. Hope to see you all there. Jacqui
Hello there classmates. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you in the festivities in a few weeks. I am bummed as I would have loved to see everyone, catch up, and exchange a lot of laughs. My wife is expecting our first (a boy) on Sept. 5th, so I am waiting patiently for the big day!
My wife Amy and I live in San Francisco, and I am a real estate developer. After 5 knee surgeries, I stopped skiing (I still snowboard) and have figured out that golf works better these days.
We still visit Idaho often, staying with family in Boise and McCall. I often see Steve Mader who lives with his wife and two kids in Meridian. I also recently exchanged e-mails with Matt LaRocco, Greg Villenueve, and Trina Miller. That was great. I have also reconnected with Jason Bender over the last year here in SF, and even saw Mike Clayton, Kim Sayers, and Emily Ceruzak. As you can tell, I am very bad with the married names, so I apologize.
Writing this brings back so many great memories of Boise & BK. I hope life is treating you all well, and please say hello to everyone from me at the reunion. Finally, send out some updates (and photos!) after the reunion, so we can find out what everyone is up to. Take care.
