What's shakin? I'm living the dream in the fine city of Yakima, Washington. How many years has it been now? I won't even count because honestly I feel old enough already! I was just taking a little trip down "memory lane" and found myself reading the message board on this site. Wow, some great accomplishments... and some great failures too I'm sure. I would like to list MY accomplishments as being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or to tell you all that I became a millionare on the World Poker Tour playing Texas Hold'Em! But really what I've accomplished is at age **, I have good health, a career that I love, great friends, and a whole lot of really fine memories. I wish the same and much more to you, classmates. -Here's to getting old!
It would be a lie to pretend that I'm not beautiful. I have come out of my shell said the little turtle. Hello all! I am still living in Boise, with my wife Erika and three little girls. I have put more fires out around this town than you can shake a stick at so keep lighting them, whoever you are. Being a fireman in Garden City, I have seen a lot of crazy things! I work at the Glenwood Station near the Hawks stadium. So stop by ring the bell if your in the area. I also design custom furniture on my days off and have been blessed with a great business. I continue to create wild designs for resort towns and other primitive themes. Watch for me on tv soon, thats all I can say at this time. I will be fully clothed and most likely in my shop working away. God bless all, your in my prayers. !
This is probably a useless Hail Mary shot, but I found myself curious as to what has happened to the people in my class. I was in Boise a few weeks ago and walked into Bernadette Barnes' parents book store in Hyde Park. Her mother said that Bernadette has apparently been in an abby for the last ten years. I found this fascinating (and somewhat humbling). Am wondering if anyone has been keeping track of the rest of the class. If this thread ever gets checked again, I'd love to know. Joe
I agree. I'd like to hear what everyone else is doing as well. This message board has been too quiet for too long.
From your email, it looks like you are in Missouri. Let me first offer my condolences on St. Louis' loss in the World Series - although as a New England transplant, I can't say I'm too sorry about the outcome.
I'm still here in New Hampshire. I'm about to enter my fifth New England winter. They are a killer. I'm still married and we have one daughter - 14 months old.
That's all for me. Thanks for checking in, Joe. I hope you are well.
Hello everyone, I found this web site today and thought I would check in. I read the first thread and all the info about the 10 year reunion. Ooops, I guess I am a few years late.. Oh well there is always a 20 year!! It was nice to read all the updates with everyone and their lives. It is so funny to see that in the last couple of years so many of you guys just started having children, and here I am with a girl who turned 13 in January , and a boy who turned 10 in July. (For those who might be trying to do the math, yes I was pregnant when we all graduated.)LOL...
Things have definately changed in my life and I also have had major changes.. I went from being voted most wild and crazy to Soccer Mom, Softball Coach/Mom,PTA.. You name it I seem to be involved. My little girl who isn't so little anymore is in 7th grade and already 5'8. And she is just like me when I was younger. So the saying about what you do to your parents will come back 10 times worse is the truth!! She is very active in Sports( softball and swim team) and Art classes, she is the social butterfly of her class. My son is in the 5th grade and has been on the "A" Honor role since 1st grade. He is in alot of the advanced classes. He is a big sports fanatic, playing soccer and baseball are his favorites. He also has started showing a big interest in Motor Cross.
Well I am going to guess the reason no one could find my address would be that I had moved to Florida. Although now I am living in Virginia. I had a pretty rough start out of High School and a HUGE wake up call!! I did alot of struggling for awhile. I am married now. ( They say 3 is the charm right??) Ha Ha.. My husband is a Commercial Electrician and I am a Senior Service/Account rep. for Kraft Nabisco. I really hope all is going well for everyone!!!! I would love to hear from you guys!!! Take care
I haven't checked this message board out for a couple years, and just thought I would check in and see what everyone's doing.
I've been married for almost 9 years, and have 3 kids, ages 6, 4, and 2. I work as a detective for the Ada County Sheriff's Office, and love it. I've been there for almost 13 years now, 7 as a 911 Dispatcher, and the last 6 as a patrol deputy and detective.
We go to church at Capital Christian Center at Eagle and Fairview. It's non-denominational, and a fantastic church.. I still consider myself somewhat of a "young married", so we go to a phenomenal young married's class every Sunday morning before the church service... We are doing activities all summer, including BBQ's and camp outs.. If anyone is interested, send me an email.. I'll give you times, etc...
After reading the 'election 2004' thread, I am disturbed, but not surprised by the hateful comments coming from students at our school.. I am also impressed by our own Joe Taggart's objectivity and thought that he put into his comments.
[Joe, even if you voted for Kerry, I still think you're awesome! :) ]
I'll save my pro-George W. Bush comments for another time and place... I do have to say that I did my time in the USMC and would have proudly fought in a war that is being fought to prevent the fight from coming to our own cities. I believe the effectiveness of this war can be seen where no attack has come to our shores in almost four years.
Whether or not you agree with President Bush, pray for him and our troops.
Matt - Good to hear from you. Sounds like you are continuing to serve us civilians in a role outside of the Marine Corps.
Also, thanks for your kind comments, although that may be the first time that anyone from BK has been "impressed" by me, or considered my opinion's "objective". Perhaps fatherhood has served to temper my more caustic rebuttals.
Sadly, the honorable Senator from the great commonwealth of Massachusetts did not win my vote. Of the many deciding factors, was the time I spent in graduate school with one of the Heinz boys. It gave me too much insight into what I believe is the "real" John Kerry. One instance in particular gave me great trouble. It is not apropriate to post here, but I can email it to you directly sometime. Still can't say that Bush won my vote, but I can say that Kerry lost it.
I note that monday is the "unofficial" birthday of the Marine Corps. Thanks for your service.
Yes, in case you noticed, I remarried for a second time. After a 10 year run the first time, it was an amicable split and time to move on. I married for love this time...lol I happen to inherit 4 more kids on top of my own 2 so it must be love. The kids' ages are 6,9,10,11,13 and 19. They are all pretty good kids, but you can imagine the sport nights in our house with at least 3 kids at a time in any given sport...a logistical nightmare.
Anyways, I am still in the Air Force with 7 years until retirement and it couldn't come soon enough. My husband retires next year. We are currently stationed in Alaska, beautiful but LONG, DARK winters. We are leaving next year to return back to civilization in the lower 48 and are actually trying to get to Mountain Home. My husband fell in love with Boise and after our last visit, it's definitely top on our list to raise all these kids.
If anyone happens to hear or see from Ginger Sprute, could you please have her email me? I would love to hear from her or anyone else for that matter.
