Sounds like you did a wonderful job on the reunion!!! Sorry I did not make it but I went to my Cascade High reunion, same date and time. If you have a chance I would love to see more photos or if you had a program of sorts I would love one. Please mail to PO Box 226 Cascade, Idaho 83611-0226.
Oh, I did not hear about Greg...could I please get more info. Thank you. Guy
Guy, I just emailed you a link to the pictures and what little info I have about Greg. Maybe someone else can share what they know, because I don't know much.
I will mention for anyone who doesn't know, we planted some yellow mums out in front of the school in Greg's memory. Chuck told me they were going to look for a tree or something to put with them. So, that will be nice.
I think I have almost all the reunion stuff wrapped up. Eventually we need to do something smart with the $$ we have in the account. It's not generating much in the way of interest. It might be a good idea to do a short term CD or something. If anyone has any ideas or opinions about that, please let me know.
My big news is that Mike and I are expecting our first in September. Crazy! But we're excited. I know I'm not the only one, so all the rest of you get to posting. It's always good to hear how everyone is doing.
Quite frankly, I've been a bit preoccupied lately. Something to do with running an Irish dance school with St. Patrick's Day coming up. We've got our first full-scale production scheduled for then at the Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls. If you find yourselves in my corner of the state on St. Patrick's Day, you'll know where to find me!
Hello? Anybody home? It seems like after the 10-year reunion, people just sort of disappeared. I too just turned 30 and, similar to Liv, have had some thoughts back to high school. In any event, a brief, and as painless as possible, update. I'm married, live in the Washington, DC area and work as attorney in downtown Washington. No kids, a couple of dogs, and hair that is turning gray from working too much. But then again, the gray hair may come from worrying that some lunatic who wants to visit heaven much sooner than I do will try to detonate a bomb under his overcoat while on the same train car that I'm on. I've heard from a few classmates, but I will leave it up to them to post an update. Hope all is well. Take care.
Was reading Ray's Obit and realized I had'nt checked out the BK site in a while, Melissa and I got married last Oct. 18 and things are well. I hope all is the same with everyone else. -Mark Thomsen
Hey all, I'm glad to see there has been a little bit of activity here.
Congratulations Mark! Hello Liv! Bryan - or should I say, Lionel, good to see you here. :)
I'm really heartbroken about Ray. Did anyone make it to the event at the Big Easy? Way to go Amy Hutchinson for helping with that.
I wanted to let you guys know that The bkclassof92@yahoo.com email address does NOT work anymore. (thanks a lot Yahoo. Grrr...) So email updates and whatnot directly to me please.
I'm thinking a small 13 year get together might be in order next year. Thoughts?
I'm pretty guilty about not updating much myself. My earlier post about our good news needs an adjustment. We had a little "false start" in 2003, but started over later in the year. My daughter Lauren was born on April 28, 2004, and she is an absolute joy.
Ok, that's all my random thoughts for now. I hope everyone is healthy and happy. Let us know how you're doing please. ~k
Hello Again, I would love to help set up a 13 year get together. I have a lot of "free Time" now that I am at home with my kids. I really need some adult input I have had my share of being exposed to Blues Clues and BooBahs lately. My e-mail address is luvmygolden@mindspring,com Thanks Nancy Bair-Johnson
2005-- I guess I am the first post of this year and it is more than half way over. 13 year get together would be great if it happens in December:)...hint hint. I am still in San Jose, 31 although I had some turning 30 thoughts mostly about where am I going with my life. So, I joined the Army, and I am in my first year of law school at Golden Gate U. in S.F. Bryan I can see where your grey hair started. My son is almost 1, in October actually. Kids rock! I will be moving back to Boise when I finish with school, hopefully before the next reunion, I miss Boise very much... *sniffle I will be there for sure the 20th through at least the first week of January. I am sure Stefan and Bryan Holmes will be around, Louis of course, and hopefully more of you. If someone would like to coordinate email me, otherwise let me know and I will coordinate it.
I see that few people visit this sight, myself included. I just heard the sad news about Ankur and was wondering if any memorials were being made on behalf of our class.
Hey everyone, I have a new email address katie@c308.com.
I didn't know about Ankur, I just read the Obit and I'm just sick about it. Does anyone know what happened?
We have some money left in our class fund. About $140 if I remember correctly. BK dug up the flowers we planted for Greg. So maybe we could use that money to do something more permanent for our classmembers who pass away too young.
I thought maybe you guys might like to read Ankur's obituary. It definately sounds like the sweet friend I remember.
Ankur Charan, 33, passed away at home on May 7, 2008. He was born in Ludhiana, Ind., on Oct. 9, 1974, to Nirmal and Lalita Charan. Early in his life, Ankur and his parents relocated to Auckland, New Zealand, and then to Seattle, Wash., where his sister Neev was born. Ankur and his family arrived in Boise in 1980, where he attended school first at St. Joseph's Parish and then at Bishop Kelly High School. Ankur was president of the senior class at Bishop Kelly and graduated with honors in 1992. He kept in touch with many of his friends at Bishop Kelly for many years and appreciated the support and friendship that continued throughout the years from some very special people. After graduation from high school, Ankur attended the University of Idaho and later transferred to Boise State University, where he received his major in Philosophy with a minor in finance and business in 1996. During these school years, Ankur developed an interest in karate and practiced this actively, resulting in several competition awards. In 1998, Ankur moved to Seattle, where he became a stock analyst and advisor, and worked with various banks in the Greater Seattle area. He had several special friends in Seattle with whom he "hung out" and enjoyed his time living in the city. Over the last couple of years, Ankur adopted "Chompers," a miniature Pinscher, who became his "little buddy" and the topic of the back round pictures on his cell phone. Ankur and Chompers went on several fishing expeditions and, fortunately for both, never caught a single fish. One year ago, Ankur moved back to Boise to be closer to his family. During this time, he had the opportunity to have many good cups of coffee and philosophical chats with his father, and to have dinner and movie nights with his mother. He enjoyed his visits from Neev, who lives on the East Coast, and from his friends who visited him from Seattle. He also appreciated the instant rapport between his mother and Chompers, who tends to be a very particular dog. Ankur's life was short, but he touched many people who will always remember him. He leaves behind his sister and best friend, Neev, along with her husband Damon Exley, his loving parents Lalita and Nirmal, and numerous friends and supporters. We will all miss his humor, his appreciation of a good meal, his detailed movies reviews, and his brilliant smile. Services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. The family requests photos and/or stories be brought to the memorial service. These may also be sent to 10304 W. Silver City St. Boise, Idaho, 83704.
I haven't been on here in years but I was going through my bookmarks and saw this link, so I thought I'd check and see if anyone still visits.
I did hear about Ankur. So sad. Katie, I think it's a great idea to do something in honor of him. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions but I'll think on it and see if I come up with something. Thanks for posting his obituary too.
Angel Robins! Holy cow girl, how the heck are ya? I have thought about you from time to time and wondered how you have been. Send me an e-mail and let me know what's up. I'm doing great. I have 13 month old twin boys and they are so much FUN!
Like Louis said in another post, some of us are on MySpace and a bunch of us are on Facebook. It's been so fun getting to see what everyone's been up to. It would be great to have even more people on there so check it out :)
