Updates from Alumknights. Here's who we heard from in the recent "Y$2K" Alumknight fundraising letter, sent out just before Christmas 1999.

Paul Fritz lives in Boise.

Jennifer Kroos Haemmerle lives in Hailey, Idaho. She and her husband Fritz are partners in the Roarke Law Firm. They have a son Xavier who is almost three and a son Dieter who is two months.

Marcella Schumacher Trueba and her husband Paul have been married 15 years. She has two sons, Michael who is 14 and Nicholas who is 12. "Me, well I love being married and enjoy being a Mom. My newest accomplishment is obtaining my real estate license and working at Century 21 in Mountain Home, Idaho."

Hi! Someone emailed me the website address for alumknights, and I just got around to viewing the site this evening. I also noted, I'm one of the missing people on the class of '81 list! Ack! So, here I am!

Formerly, I was Margaret Kraus Obenauf. After graduating, I went into the radio broadcast industry. I worked on air, then delved into broadcast traffic, radio sales, promotion, production, programming and management. At the same time, I had the opportunity to really get into computers, which I'm thankful for now!

Ultimately, I was a co-owner and Vice President of KFXD AM and FM, and secretary for three years of BARBA, the Boise Area Radio Broadcasters Association. After selling my interest in the station in 1993, I moved for a year to Florida, and met my victim...errr husband, Mike, online of all things! I subsequently spent three years in Virginia, then got married in Las Vegas. We loved it so much, we moved to the West -- thank goodness! I missed it!

My last name currently is Orrin. I have a 17 1/2 year old son, David, and I'm now a Webmaster, business manager and teacher (as well as assistant teaching) at the University of Las Vegas (UNLV) in their Continued Education Computer Department.

I couldn't make our 10 year reunion, (but hope you guys enjoyed the tunes! grin) but was there in spirit! Hello to everyone and I'm thrilled to see this site up! I hope more people find it, and the message board for the class of '81 starts rolling along! :-)

I can't even touch the Mary topic without shaking and getting a little sick. We loved Mary and I just pray she knows it. I can't think about Mary alive because it kills me to think about her gone. She was the best and I will just ask the cosmos (god??) to take care of her babies. The rest of us can just remember how special she was and acknowledge how she was a magnificent part of our lives. We will miss her painfully at our 20th reunion. Nothing can help that.

Work at the Idaho Statesman as Newspapers in Education Coordinator. Talk too much. Pick my toenails. Single because I am too high maintenance. Two cats that I am allergic to. Moved here from New York City. Damn, is Boise expensive, or what?

Well -- It's good to see (talk to)(read about)some friends from BK! Yes, we will always miss Mary. I pulled out my old scrapbook from Sacred Heart and came up with some great shots of her from 7th and 8th grade.

Myself, I left BK to go to college in Seattle where I becaume a CPA. I married and moved to Massachusetts where the winters are too cold! I have two wonderful daughters. I divorced and moved back to Idaho in 1994. I remarried in 1997 and went back to school. Now I teach computers in Firth Idaho! I am looking forward to our 20th. Let's all try our resources (contacting siblings, parents, searching internet) to see if we can remove some people from the missing person's list and get them chatting on this wonderful web site!

Okay -- its not Leslie, but her nosey older sister checking ya'all out. Leslie is locked up in Shelley ID, married to a great good ole boy named Clyde. She and her two daughters have been living there for a couple of years now -- you can reach her at 208-357-2197. Her address is 265 S. Byron Avenue 83274. Please make sure she attends your next reunion -- they're just too fun to miss.

I've just received the first correspondence from the Bishop Kelly Alumni in the mail today. What a great idea !!

Update: I've moved to Washington State after living in Hawaii for 7 years with my wonderful husband, Bret and our little ones, Derek (5yrs old), Morgan (3 yrs old), and finally Shaila (1 yrs old). We are so happy to be back on the mainland; closer to family.

Check out our web page if you get a chance. This is what keeps us busy along with all our kids activities. http://www.lindean@uswestdex.com

Glad to hear that we have an alumni page to keep in touch -- not so glad to hear that I was one of the missing!!

I live in Connecticut with my son Maxfield - 10yrs old; have been here for about 15 years and yet when asked where home is, I still think of Boise.

For the past 6 years I've had an Event Management Company that has kept me busy traveling and meeting people. I'm always hopeful to run into friends from my Boise days...can't wait to see everyone at our next reunion if not sooner.

Wow, I was getting chills (good ones) reading about everyone here! Thank God women do their best to keep things going or the world would just fade into history. And if it weren't for email, I wouldn't have any friends! I can't imagine writing a letter and buying stamps!! I've been keeping in touch with Debbie Thompson (going to use maidens here!), Toni Ansotegui and Patty Turner. They don't see each other unless I come to visit. What's up with that?! I would love to see old friends more often and some of you all live right by each other!!

I live in San Diego, have two daughters, 5 & 2, am Medical Customer Support Manager for Kimberly-Clark Safeskin. My husband has dragged me to Florida, Kuwait and Virginia Beach over the past 12 years with the Navy and I'm back in San Diego to stay. I love it here, love my job, love the beach and sun and major sushi! If anyone is travelling to SeaWorld or Disneyland or the San Diego zoo, give me a call!

I was in Atlanta when I heard about Mary and am very sorry that I could not get to Boise for the services. I heard there was a beautiful show of support from our class, very appropriate for a beautiful girl who represented so much to all of us. We will all miss her, and Christine, I don't pretend to comprehend your loss. I know that you and Mary remained very close. I know that there are many people very willing to support you through it though, and I think this website is a good connection for finding some of those people.

If anyone knows how to reach Sarah I would give my left you know what to find her. And if Marcella gets back on line, write me!! I'd love to find out good scoop about old friends. Can't wait for the reunion! Plus, I heard that Mark H's mom was going to have a get together this summer when he gets home. I hope all of you who are nearby take advantage of your proximity to childhood friends.

He is a Professor and was just elected Vice President of the University of Gjovik. (And yes, that's spelled correctly)

I know he would love to hear from any and all of you!

Just read Dana's message. So GREAT to get more Class of '81 people tuned into this site. Please tell eveyone that you are in contact with to use it to communicate with all of us. As for Mary Flo, I am still missing her sweet self and crying over her whenever I have one glass of wine too many. However, please remember Lucy Brotherton (in Austin), Ann Brilz (in San Francisco), Toni Ansotegui (in Boise and what the freak is her married name? I am not UP on married names for anyone, maybe in protest to the fact that I have never married neither man nor beast), and Sarah Peterson (Eugene-married to a cutey patootie) were much closer to Mary than I in these last 10 years and are feeling an incredible loss. I am just a bigger baby and drink more wine. Anyway, I just CANNOT imagine having a reunion without Mary's smiling face. It will be weird. If ANYONE can get Lucy's e-mail address, please post it here. She collected e-mail addresses the evening of the funeral to keep us all linked, but i haven't heard from her! Talk this site up. It is a blast and very valuable to us as we approach our 20th reunion-a good way to share info. Christine

Hi everyone! Itıs great to be able to hear (read) how you are doing without having to wait for a reunion to roll around. The AlumKnights deserve a hats off for setting up this site so that we can communicate to each other.

Dana, your girls are adorable!!!! I hope your picture will inspire more people to send ones of their cuties!!!!! (That means cats too, Christine.)

My husband Ric and I are currently living in San Jose, CA with our four year old daughter Nekane. Whenever I go to Boise, I try to get together with Molly Vaughan, Ellie Ysursa and Toni Ansotegui. Iıve also seen Margret and Kathryn Brennan, Amy Gerhardt and Debbie Thompson at the masses at St. Maryıs. I have also run into Julie Harrington and Christine a few times. (The last time I saw you Christine, you were volunteering at a downtown function for the city. It was sometime during Christmas break. Do you remember?) I saw Sarah Petersen at a Portland airport waiting for our same flight to Eugene. I got her number, but unfortunately, I never got together with her because we moved to San Jose shortly after that. I spoke to Pam just about two weeks ago and during our conversation it seemed as though no time had passed by except that she and Nick now have three kids! Pam told me about the get-together for Mark that you were talking about Dana.

During the 14 years that Ric and I have been together, we have moved 8 times (at first because of the Navy and most recently because of the computer industry). Luckily Boise was one of those moves a few years back and I got the chance to teach Spanish at B.K. Teaching there gave me an even greater appreciation for the school. I really enjoyed having some of our old teachers as peers. When I was teaching there, Lane Brown, Jane Wilson, Henry Krewer and Judith Kroos were still there. We shared some good times and they shared a lot of wisdom with me. (However, I still can only call Judy Mrs. Kroos and Henry Mr. Krewer). Lane and Jane are still at B.K.! And I donıt know if you heard but Father Wilson is returning to B.K. to do masses next year also. It sure was wierd to teach Spanish in the same room that Sister Benita taught us Spanish in!!! Iıll never forget how blown away I was when during my first student body mass as a teacher a Michael Jackson song was played over the speakers!!

I was so sorry to hear about Mary. I am feeling the same feelings of disbelief and deep sadness that I felt when I heard about Teresa Hawesı (Class of ı80) death a few years back. It just seems that it canıt be so. They were such bright, talented, kind and loving individuals. For me the only consolation is that they are at peace now. I have been thinking a lot about Maryıs two small children and how they deserve to know the Mary that we knew and loved. I was thinking that probably the best tribute we could give to Mary is to collect stories or reflections from her fellow classmates about her and give them to Maryıs parents so that she can give them to Maryıs children when she sees fit. I am planning on helping with the class booklet for the upcoming reunion, so I could compile these reflections at the same time. What do you think? Now that I have written a book myself, I will say bye for now.

greetings to the un-lost knights!

funny, just last week i was 'cruising' and typed in all combinations of bk, alumknights, .com, .org, etc. etc. ad-infinitum, and came up with nothing...then just today i get the 'new' newsletter. i guess that 'they' didn't want to let me in last week, but figgered that 'they' had better let me in today since the release of the news letter. (i am nothing if not persistant)

life is good. my mom told me about mary flo.....sad to hear about it. i am a biblical research student now, and i now know where the competition is (eph 6:12) and who my competitor is (john 10:10).

hey, HEY! stop that! stop screaming! i know, i know, seems kind of strange for me to be a biblical research student huh?! especially since most of yous guys know what i was all about in high school.... "well that just goes to show ya..."

so now, everyday, i kick the author of death's butt. paybacks are a bitch! paybacks for all of the mary's that i've ever known who got ripped off. if you'd like to know how, shoot me an e-mail.

i compete in the competition of life to win....not place second. and i win, everyday.

it IS available.

you ARE good enough.

i don't know if this letter will make it where i think that it will...we'll see....anyway, my e-mail is believer07@aol.com.

hasta lasagne

Hello out there:) This is so awesome. You cannot believe how many times I think about our class and wonderabout everyone and of course how bad I feel about not keeping in touch with people who mean so much to me. OK enough of the sappy stuff. After graduating and Mark Echevarria dumping me on graduation night I attended BSU for a year and a half and found the man of my dreams. We were married in July of '84 and have 2 wonderful sons. Dana I would love to hear from you. Joe Maloney lives in Mtn. Home which was a surprise to me when I ran into him while teaching his kindergarten daughter. Small world:) He keeps me posted on BK news when I run into him around town. Deddie Diaz where are you?????

Hello Class of 1981, It's been 10 years since I've not seen most all you. This is a good way we can become closer and learn what's been happening in our lives.

What I'm doing? I've been in Boise, working at TML Inc since 82. I am now G.M. Personally, after H.S.I went to Boise State and graduated, got married once for 5 yaers, took a 6 yr break and I'm getting married in Oct. to a wonder woman. No kids, just a dog. For fun I do Ironman Triathlon racing, that's the swim, bike, run stuff. That seems to take up all my spare time. Any way I wish everyone who reads this the best and look forward to the reunion. Hello Class of '81!

I have lost track of everyone, except Christine, who told me about this message board. What a great way to get the scoop on people I haven't seen since our 10-year reunion! Who ever thought Ross A. would be compiling the book for our 20-year get together? Whoever thought people would call me "ma'am." AGGHHHH.

I live in Portland, Ore., where I am the COO for American Red Cross Blood Services. No husband, or children ... unless you count my 500 employees! Red Cross has operations in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, so I frequently travel regionally for work. Additionally, I just completed my first year of a two-year graduate program at Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. During the school year, I commute to Chicago every other week (Thur - Sun). (My four-year-old nephew thinks my home is the airport!)Thankfully, I don't have to go back until mid-Sept. I am enjoying the summer break! Playing tennis, running, recreationally travelling, and reading fiction --- not touching any subject matter that has anything to do with management or quantifiable data!

My family is still in Boise, so I infrequently make the trip home. Hopefully, I will bump into somebody during my next trip. I plan to at least spend some time with Christine and her cats. Anyone heading to Portland (or Chicago after I am back in school), look me up. My email address is tms63@aol.com.

I hope this finds you healthy, happy and looking forward to our reunion. By the way, I would love to be on the reunion planning committee ... how does one go about that?

Take Care! Trudy

Trudy (and to anyone who would like to help out with the reunion),

I would just get ahold of Pam and Nick in Boise to let them know that you want to help. They were in charge of the 10th reunion since Nick was our co-president.

I plan on talking to them again this summer about dates for the reunion when I go to Boise for Jaialdi 2000 -- which is the big Basque event that only happens every 5 years. It is scheduled for July 27 - 30. If anyone wants some information about it, just let me know. It would be great to see some classmates there! Trudy, are you planning a trip to Boise this summer? I'd love to see you again as well as Marcella and Joe. Christine, Margret and Kathryn, I'm hoping that you already have Jaialdi on your calendar! Dana, when are you planning on visiting Boise again?

It is great to read the emails from our classmates. Dana, your girls are adorable. I would love to see more pictures of our classmates and children. I don't have the means to put our children's pictures on the web yet. Maybe, this will be my next investment. I regret seeing everyone that can make it to Mark Hopfenbeck's get together in July this year. I'm there in spirit!!! I'm coming that way in August, perhaps I'll meet up with those of you that are still in Boise.

If you'd still like to check out what I do in our business as a designer in aircraft interiors & restoration for corporate and privately owned planes. (some clients such as Nordstrom, Starbucks, Paul Allen, McCaws, Supersonics, just to name a few). Needless to say, I am having a blast. Check out our web page (excluding the www.) Let's try this again: Correction once again: http://lindean.uswestdex.com
We are in the process of getting a new web page designed and expanding the business. We are planning a full facility, including paint, upholstery, cabinetry, and maintenance for corporate aircraft.

Enough about me... I could probably go on and on... It has been alot of years. Hope to keep in touch with all of you.

God Bless and Take Care, Debbie Cope Stephen

Well, since I've told a few people about this website and have been reading the messages, I thought I'd add my info also.

I am still living in Boise and just can't seem to leave this great city, although it has changed a lot over the last 20 years. Places that I thought were in the boonies in high school are now closer to town than where I live.

After high school, I got my accounting degree from Boise State, sat for my CPA license and began working for a public accounting firm. After three years of lots of overtime and traveling, I began working for Hewlett Packard in Finance which is where I have been working for the past 12 years.

My husband, Pat, (also at Hewlett Packard) and I have a 7 year old son (Zach) and a 4 year old daughter (Kylie)to keep us busy. Four years ago, I decided that it was a lot more fun to hang out with my kids than crunch numbers, so I went part-time at HP. Now I work as little as possible so that I can shuttle my kids to all their activities and play such fun things as Barbie and Pokemon (I still don't understand that crave).

My son goes to St. Mark's (where I began my fine parochial education), and it has been fun to see other people from high school whose kids also attend the school. Zach's best friend is Debbie (Cope) Stephen's nephew.

I'm looking forward to our reunion next year, although I remember going to my Mom's 20th reunion and thinking they were all a bunch of old fogeys!

Marcella, I have run into Mark E. a few times over the past few years in the halls of Hewlett Packard. I checked the HP phone directory today and he is not listed. He was working for the formatter factory which HP sold a few years ago to Jabil, so I assume he is now working for Jabil.

Debbie, Camille keeps me somewhat up to date on you and your family, but I'd love to see you when you get into town. We are planning a camping trip with her in early August.

Take care, Patty

Rosa- I will definitely mark Jaialdi on my calendar. Just refuse to drink the rum and cokes that kept me in the bathroom for an entire Sheepherder's Ball one year. Eeeuuhh. I went to the first Jaialdi with Smellie Ellie and we had lots of fun. Can't wait to see you and anyone else who is there. I plan to take pix at the party when Mark Hopfenbeck and his entire Norwegion clan are home July 7th, and will get my sister (with the scanner) to get them up on this site. Wow... freaky to think people like Doug LaMott grew up to be real mean! Doug, such a stud now,eh? They have a couple of the competitions down here in Oceanside and San Diego each year. Unbelievable that all that drinking still lets your body perform for that!

Marcella, Marcella, Marcella (that was hard to type three times)... you do exist! Patty called me today apologizing profusely for bailing on me a couple weeks ago when she was down here with the fam. Told me that you had actually responded to the emails and here you are! Cool! Everyone send pictures! Just send the alumknight team a .jpeg file and they'll load it for you.

Thought I'd make it to Boise this summer, but have been traveling a lot lately and have to go to Atlanta again and just got back from Portland, so travel has to be restricted now. Hubbie has been stuck with the girls on his own a lot this summer and I would want to go to to Boise by myself!! Wouldn't be half as much fun otherwise!! and that would end up with the big D papers being served I think...

Anyone know where Chris Compton and Mark Troy are? Hope everyone has fun at the Hopfenbeck get together... Damn, what fun! Someone fill us all in when it's done!

Take care, All, and spread the word about the web page!!

whoops.....guess that was enough shock treatment!....and now for something completely different....(how do you delete a letter posted here?!)

life is good...busy, but good. i still have time for the finer things in life like fishing with my pop....going to boise to meet him in july and then off to prince rupert, bc for a little ocean fishing. i am so looking forward to it and especially the time i will have to spend in boise with a new found, thought-i-lost friend(you know who you are)....whee!

living in PA is cool, except for bugs, and the fact that what they call mountains here are more like the hill one climbs leaving boise towards mtn. home, just past micron! even the poconos just north of me, what wimpy little mounds! beautiful, but no comparison to even the boise front! how i do miss those mountains "with great white teeth! phtt! phtt!".

i figgered that i'd check the out east coast now, while i'm young, and if i don't like it, i can still move! makes it quite easy to do so since i'm not married,YET...but will be....still putting out resumes and taking applications....but i know that i'll find the one that has the best pay and benefit package known to man!

my best to all....still waiting for a SPECIFIC date for the reunion next year....hint, HINT....got plans 'til next march and need to know what to plan for!

huevos rancheros!

Speaking of the reunion, Nick has started talking about it with some of us and I think we really need some new, fun ideas (not that Nick is a boring piece of Velveeta and mayonnaise on Wonder bread kind of guy):) This is the chance for all of you whom (who? that? help me Sister Lillian!!)I KNOW are logging on to this and reading, but not posting - to write! We need ideas - I think the dates are set, but can't remember (need more ginko biloba)- does anyone? Anyway, it would be great to hear from more of you, hear what you've been up to AND get this reunion thing going. I, obviously, have no life and have written several times. The only exciting part is that I am completely naked when I write. Hah. Suffer the visual on that one. Bubbles

That would be something fun and new, don't you think? I have a feeling those who are reading and not posting think we are a little loco anyway... You and I can take that one off line again...

Hey, can we post jokes here? By the way, if volunteers are needed to assist with the reunion, count me in. Especially if it's computer related...

Nobody knows where Chris Compton is?? How can that be? Aren't he and the Bradys and half of Boise related?

Leslie Jones are you out there??????? Where are you and what is going on with you. I have had to spend sometime in Boise at St. Al's with my brother-in-law and have managed to take a few trips with my boys down Randolph Drive and talk about old times with them. Do you recall the time we decided to walking on the ice on the canal and I decided the ice was thick enough so I stepped out on it and low and behold I fell in- I never in my wildest dreams thought I could run that fast. I still remember running into the house while my mom was talking to your mom explaing what had happened. We also talk about grade school and the poem that was made up about you and I I believe Paul Fritz was the author "fatty and skinny in bed, fatty rolled over and skinny was dead" That's alright Mort I still love ya:) Mic..... Write back and let me know what's up......... Hey Joe my husband says you are alright....... Anyone who likes racing is alright..... So did you get your tent fixed???? Gotta go---see ya'll later:)

OK, OK, I will be the reporter on last evening's get together at the lovely home of Mrs. Hopfenbeck to celebrate Mark's most recent visit to the States. First of all, Mrs. H is adorable and hasn't changed ONE BIT from when we were errant Knights. She had a lovely spread, with lots of Mark's friends, relatives and friends and neighbors of the family. Curt was there with his lovely bride Natalie...and lots of class of '81. We are a very FERTILE class. Lots of kids and pix of kids. I, on the other hand, had lots to tell about my two cats who just happen to be National Merit Scholars, Altar Boys, World Class Track and Field (mice) athletes and are thinking of studying Electrical Engineering at Notre Dame. Color me proud. Anyway, here is a rundown for those of you that couldn't make it: Nick and Pam are adorable and have 3 great kids. Amy (Gearhard) Leinberger (stunning beauty queen after 4 pregnancies?? where is the justice?) and Corey were there with 3 cute girls and baby (6 yrs.) Tommy. Trina Kober was in from Massachussetts, or Pennsylvania or somewhere NE to visit family and extended her stay to come see Mark...her boy Maxwell was with the cousins. Debbie Thompson looks fabulous and (new last name??) has the nicest hubby in the world and 2 stunning twin girls. Mort (sorry, Paul) was there with cute wife and kids Jake (18 mos. and a real go-getter) and baby girl Morgan. Margret & Kathryn were there and the life of the party as usual. Margret's daughter Carleigh(a clone of Kathryn) was there. Hubbies left at home. Terry Hippler was there with a twelve pack. Dan Allumbaugh, his wife Carrie and two boys were there. David Grapp showed up to make the party complete. Chris Compton is alive and well and came for a while, then went home to his newest (1 month old) baby and wife. AND ofcourse, there was the best: Mark. He looks so adorable, and in Kathryn's words "like a professor." His wife is so sweet- Therese. He has three kids in tow - Nikolai (forgive me for the Norwegian mispellings) who is about 6 I think, Dagmar (a lovely little girl that Mark happened to drop on her head during the course of the night - he owes her bigtime) who is about 3 I think, and a baby with way big hair for a tot. Mark babbles to the kids in Norwegian, and we all got really silent to listen to our old class president ( he could have been threatening the kids within inches of their life for all we knew, but it sounded really sensitive and new age daddy). Mark and his whole family (in laws came too!) go back on 7/23. I felt blessed to just hug the man (and I got a couple of world class gooses from Curt, which weren't bad either). Sorry this is so long, wish you all could have been there. It was so fun to hang together and just be ourselves. I feel rather barren today, but me and the cats are talking in-vitro.

sure would have liked to see mark and the gang....sadly, i currently have one foot nailed to the floor here in PA. don't worry, not a terminal thing...i'll get over it, probably by next spring "with a little help from my friends". (i can almost reach the crow bar!) of course that depends on their willingness! ha! i know the desire is there. isn't it?

i'm not absolutely sure what i was thinking when i moved here....sounded like a good idea at the time...and, no, i wasn't baked...not even half-baked! (i gave that up for lent). i do know one thing for sure though, i know why people move FROM here! bugs, people, and roads. they all come in copious quanities. it's a strange thing when so many roads are named after fish....swamp PIKE, germantown PIKE, and the really confusing oley TURNpike....hmmmmmmm.

i am happy here, although as of late i find myself wishing that i were somewhere else...for one special, singularly significant reason.

good thing that i'm young, dumb and ... how does the rest of that go? i still have the ability to move wherever i damn well please. i miss the valley, the mountains, less ravenous bug life (although the fire flys are cool). i am ready for boise again, but am not sure if boise is ready for me. no burned bridges, just not the same person i once was. but then again, i never was.

and i make no apologies for it.

granola!

hey joe!

i almost forgot....when you see pat b. again, tell him i'm proud of him (and you as well)! few days go by that i am not thankful for the country that we have to live in and the stand people like you and pat make to insure our freedom.

i am especially grateful because i have never been able to bring myself to get a "mil-spec" hair cut...i'm sure that you can see the humor in that....if not now, next year you will see for sure...unless i have a tragic accident with a weed-eater again.

because of my swiss heritage (and other reasons), i decided i'd defend my rights on a more local and personal level...can you say "concealed carry"...AND it doesn't require the haircut!

carry on!

Here I am Marcella!!!! I, too, have taken my children to see where you used to live -- I told them how your parents all but adopted me for many years! Those were some of my best memories - especially how great of a cook your mom was! (Bless her soul, I miss her!) yes, I remember your trying to walk on water in the canal - lack of faith, my friend - I was sure we would never be allowed to play near the canal again!

So, Paul - what do you have to say after all these years about the fatty and skinny rhyme - 30 years of poor self-esteem and its all your fault! (I forgive you, but Marcella is still upset!) .... or was it Mrs. Gillgan at St Marks (2nd grade) who used to have Mark H. and me stand in front of the classroom. "Say "rabbit", Mark". "Wabbit", her would reply. "Say "Mississippi", Leslie. "Miffiffippi" I would reply!!

Does anyone know the dates of the reunion?

Todd, I will pass on to Pat your message. I appreciate your support, as do all military members. As for the Haircut, well that is not really a problem anymore. At least not as much as it was 10 years ago. It gets to be less of a problem yearly, if you get my drift.

thanks for the support joe!

although i don't think that the military would let me in with hair flowing off of my shoulders! (i don't want to discourage it from growing on top....new strategy!)

had a great time in les bois....saw john hiatt with bubbles and the grapp-ster...thanks for having me along folks!

sure wish i was there now, not much i can do about it right now though...sh*t in one hand and wish in the other, guess which one gets full faster...

sometimes it seems like time moves so slowly, and then before you know it another year has blown by. sure would be nice to be next year already, but we've all got so little time here anyway, i guess that's why we need to make the most of it all.

i sure endeavored to make the most of it while i was there...time will tell the ultimate profit of my efforts...sometimes i wonder if i try too hard!

oh well, i'd rather try, than regret not trying hard enough.

i got my broad-stroke plans set in order for to be in boise next year, so i will see who i see when i get there...love you all.

i sometimes would like things to be different, but then i wouldn't be the same! and i'm not sure that i'd like the me i would be.

that's right, you got it....

Dana -- I just saw your note to me about Fr. Peter. He was sure a colorful creature for 9th grade English! The person I would like to find is Dr. Mooney. Does anyone have any idea where he is? I still refer to Shakesphere as Will and Chaucer as Geoff...

hey....i often wondered the same thing...THEN, when i least expected it, i saw him on a flight from seattle to boise on july 21 this year. it had to be him...same mannerisms...it "seems" he just moved too fast for me to catch him in the terminal (he was a few seats ahead of me on the plane, and the woman with the baby took too long!). so, he probably lives in one or the other of the two cities.

he looked good too (not that i rate guys, STILL only interested by women), he did have a bit of snow on the roof. (better than a lack thereof like me! :~)

such is life....

Hey All! Just got back from 3 weeks working on the Clear Creek Fire near Salmon. I ran into Mark Troy while he was dropping a van off for one of his river guides. He is doing well, just bought a rafting company. I told him about the site, and when things settle down for him, I expect to see a post here. I was lucky enough to get a trip with them on my one day off, and it was great. His compant is Idaho Adventures, in Salmon, and if you can, go float with him! I am probably going back to the fires on monday, so I'll post on my return.

Seems like I read in our class profiles that one of the class of '80 lives next door to Dr. Mooney. When I run across that again, I'll let you know.

Joe, I second that about the fires. Good work!

Take care all. Heather

Thanks for your support! ;-) The poor Dudes that are humping chainsaws and fire packs are the ones that really have it bad. I was just working security, and protecting the general public from hurting themselves. (It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant some people can be.) Looks like I'm going back after a 4 day respite. I'll check in when I get back. Joe

Hi everyone! I am very excited to discover this website. Does anyone know who's on the committee to plan our reunion? Kathryn? Margaret? Christine? I just want to make sure that the reunion is not happening over the weekends of July 6th & 7th or July 13th & 14th, 2001, since my brother-in-law is getting married on the East coast then. I am very excited to see everyone next year. Let me know if anyone knows anything.

It's great to hear about all of you who have written. I emailed Dana, who I had also been dying to find. I am still heartbroken over Mary's death, and I am glad to hear about other people's feelings. It's good for us to support each other.

I have Lucy's email: lucyb@tsd.state.tx.us

As for me, I am very happy in my life. I've been living in Eugene for thirteen years. I got married to my sweetie, Mike McCann, last November. We have been together for four years. I work as a child and family therapist. Mike and I just got back from the Oregon coast. It was glorious weather, warm and sunny.

I look forward to seeing you all next summer. Take good care!

It is great to hear from you, Sarah, and it was good to see you at Mary's funeral. I would have liked to talk with you more, but we ran out of time. Please e-mail me at patty_cooper@hp.com so we can catch up further.

I talked to Nick earlier this summer and he was going to get some people together in August to start planning next year's reunion, but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure I'll run into him on the weekends this Fall at the Optimist football games, so I'll let you know when I find out anything.

Wow! I can't believe the number of posts since I checked this site out and posted the last time! Thank you, Todd, for reminding me! (laughing)

For those of you that knew me as Margaret Kraus, I dared to be different and changed by name to Cindy. Hey -- misspent youth, what can I say? (grin)

It's wonderful to hear from all of you! Like Todd, man oh man have I changed alot since high school! For the better in my opinion (thank you, God!)! Dana, Christine and Todd -- love your posts! Also, I too had always wondered whatever happened to Doc Mooney! Man he was a riot! I can still picture him leaping from the center of the room, and in what seemed like one fell swoop, landed on that old furnace! Remember that, guys? Then started talking about what a GORGEOUS day it was outside, as he was crouched down on the furnace? (LOL)Blew me away!

Not much new on this end. My son is about ready to turn 18 soon! YIKES! Scary! Makes me wonder what the heck happened to all these years! For all of you that have young ones...enjoy them while you can! I cannot *believe* the stuff teenagers get into these days. Makes all the things we did seem like we should be elevated to Saint status! haha

Take care and feel free to write me! Dana, love jokes (some of Todd's are *the* best! laughing), so feel free to shoot them my way!

Anyone ever know what happened to Paula Cate? Bridget? Marcy Foster? They were some of the real quiet ones (like myself at the time..shudder). Saw Kathryn at Nu-Look years ago -- she was pregnant at the time. Seems like just yesterday as I look back. Also, Kathryn, a big hello to you (if she's not on here, can someone relay this to her?). My Mom told me about running into you at St. Al's! I got your message! (grin)

I'll try to post a picture to the group of my son -- and Christine...I have two cats as well. Maybe I'll upload one of them -- hey -- maybe we can hook our cats up together? haha

Take care everyone, God Bless and I'll yack at you soon!

ok....i guess that i've gone and shared some of my personal observances about the time i spent as a student at BK, and the almighty web czar didn't like it.....bummer.....doesn't anyone have a sense of humor anymore?!

so sarah, it was warm at the coast? in the years i lived in eugene, ONCE i went to florence and it wasn't windy and cold....ONCE! and, amazingly enough, when we left eugene it was rainy, windy and cold...got to florence, it was calm and beautiful, go figger!

ok, there you have it, no humor whatsoever...if you want a joke from me, (regardless of what bubbles or cindy say) you will have to pass a stringent security check point, and possibly even a body cavity search.

that was not meant to be funny.

stop laughing....or i'll be disconnected.

thank you for your cooperation.

I wasn't sure I wanted to send an email as Marcella & Leslie can start firing more shots at me. I guess I deserve it after all the abuse I gave through the years. Believe it or not I have actually matured a little. For an update on the reunion, I ran into Nick at Dan Allumbaugh's moms funeral. She had been sick for a long time. A very nice lady. Anyway, Nick said that he was going to put a committee together in September to start planning. I am sure he would appreciate all help. Todd, quite a change in lifestyle from the last time I saw you. Hope all is going well. I ran into Hippler last night and he and Chris Compton are coaching little leage football. He looked good. Still see Goicoechea quite a bit. He is doing fine. Semi retired right now but looking at going back to work. I am married w/ two children. They are both under 2 so it is quite hectic. Still work at Albertsons as a bean counter. Hope to see you all at the reunion. Think we are going to try the rafting trip again. Take care, Paul. I also changed my name from Mort.

...paul to mort, to paul, to mort or paul, to paul, period...ok, no prob. seems like everybody is changing their name....now i wonder if i should really change mine, to how a few people see me....E. yes, truly, my life style has changed quite a bit...most notably, i'm not smoking $500 per month any more! sure makes it easier to actually SAVE money (not to mention the awards i get for not killing my last remaining brain cell). now instead of being in debt, i pay cash for everything, what a concept. and sometimes i actually have money to spare...sometimes...if it isn't already allocated for something like, oh, traveling 3000 miles for a little gathering.

so all in all, life's been good to me so far. lately, i would like to be somewhere else, but i know where ever i am, that's just where i should be at the time...so i relax (there will be plenty of time to panic later). by spring time next year, i am believing i'll be in blahzay....did i say that right?

no laughing, web police and all.

...I just typed for 10 freakin' minutes saying all kinds of great things, slamming Todd for having too much time on his hands, and telling Paul it was wonderful to see his posting and then my system froze and dumped the whole bloody thing! It must have been somebody's way of telling me I was getting too mushy and to pick it up a little...

Anyway, Paul it was great to hear from you. Funny, as much of a pain as you were, I still find it very easy to picture you with a loving family, happy with life and confident of what you want and how to get there. It will be fun to see you and your family next summer. If you see Chris C. again, maybe he could dictate a message to you and you could post it here. Don't imagine he gets online too frequently... hard to picture anyway! Tell him I said hi. It's so fun to hear that you keep in touch with so many people. SOME OTHERS I KNOW LIVING IN BOISE DON'T SEE EACH OTHER UNTIL I COME INTO TOWN!! You know who you are...

This site has been so wonderful. There is just something calming about hearing from some of you (and then some, TODD!, kind of stress me out a little reading through all the lowercase letters!). It's also been so great to renew friendships. Christine, you are an angel, and I have so enjoyed our parlais-ing over the last few months. Gotta send you an update and get it going again! I don't have my wine with me right now though, so maybe I'll wait til later. Probably shouldn't make this next conference call BEFORE wine...

Patty and Sarah, check in once in awhile and write offline too. Hope we hear from Mark Troy soon. Another one I'd love to catch up with. Glad to know he's still on the river even if he and my dad almost drowned me in the Payette the last time I saw him!

Take care, everyone.

I was just at the Albertson's Pharmacy at 16th & State in the north end (buying LEGAL drugs, what a concept). Believe you me, if you want to run into someone you know, just put on a pair of ratty boxer shorts, zip your hair up into the most unflattering ponytail you can muster and flash a zit the size of Florida and go to Albertson's. It's like a BK magnet. You will see every long lost friend you ever had. I just ran into Mr. and Mrs. Echeverria and TRULY, no joke, it was really nice. After 31 years (yes, first knew Mark Echevarria and his parental units when I was six and now I am 37) they still treat me so so sweet. Even though I am old enough to monitor their Medicare claims, they were adorable. Mark and his wife are expecting (any second now) their first baby. It has some WAY Basque name already (I don't think the kid knows this) that I can't pronounce or spell. Anyway. Boise is Boise. Wish you all could be here. Maybe we could stage a reuinion function at the Albertson's at 16th & State.

Oh my God....You all (Y'all, as Ellen and Lucy would say) are HISTERICAL. I know where to come for a good laugh. Christine and Todd get an Emmy for Comedy, especially for the changing your name bit, Todd, and the Albertson's at 16th and State, Chris. Todd, I didn't know you lived in Eugene. When were you here? What were you doing?

Joe, thank you for the email. It was great to hear from you. I am really thrilled to hear how everyone's doing. It's also nice to hear from Paul.

It's a little intimidating to post a message, given the level of talent of you other posters, but it's way fun...if there are any shy ones out there just reading...please write to us! I would also appreciate anyone's memories of high school (or earlier) since my memories seem to be stuck somewhere deep inside my mind. At least, I hope they're there somewhere. The 10 year reunion brought some of them back, but I'm afraid that I may not even recognize some of you next year. You should see me and my sister talk about our childhoods. She remembers everything including the time we drove in our orange VW bus up an old logging road because my dad wanted to show us his elk hunting camp. It was a very steep mountain and some of us kids got sick. Then we ended up camping on the road and it started pouring during the night. My mom and dad, who were nice and dry inside the van, found us soaked in our
